Hi, watchers and artists and writers and betas!

It's the 21st of March where I am and soon to be the 21st in other timezones. This is just a reminder that project submissions are due today, to be emailed to me at lindra at gmail (copied to sulyncheah at gmail) and posted on the 25th.

We'll post on the 25th to let everyone know when the projects are up and where to find them, but right now I just wanted to ask everyone not to panic -- you have until the end of the 21st in your timezone to submit.

We would like to add that we'd really appreciate basic HTML coding in your submissions (bold, italics, that kind of thing). We understand if this means you submit a little later than you otherwise would, as long as you get it in by roughly midnight of the 21st March your time, whichever timezone your team decides to prefer!

Bleach
Hello Aizen. Haven't you used that line before?

I knew I liked the Editor-in-Chief. He's sort of like a grown up Tezuka... and that's an AU I'm not writing that would work.

So, not only is Tuesday the new Monday, Wednesday appears to be the new Tuesday. Thankfully, I am able to take a break from the exciting world of Tax Time™ to bring you the update, only slightly late. (Not-thankfully, I am doing so after about 20 hours of uptime and while on serious painkillers, so if I am less coherent than usual, this would be why.)

We have an action-packed, thrill-a-minute blockbuster at the box office this week (IN A WORLD ... where [staff profile] denise likes to make stupid jokes in the weekly update introduction....) Coming soon to a theatre near you:

Hello again!

I created a community [community profile] qtxpost for the new LJ/DW Linux client mentioned in my previous post, so everyone who's interested can keep track of the development and I don't have to spam [site community profile] dw_nifty anymore.

The latest version is 0.2.5, there's a lot of changes since the previous one.

It's an open community, all the feedback, suggestions, bug reports etc are much appreciated!

Background information: I've already finished fourth-year Korean as an undergrad but it was four years ago at another institution, and my Korean has deteriorated since then. However I don't remember fourth-year Korean as being especially challenging; I had to concentrate of course but the readings themselves weren't very long. The fifth-year Korean course description says: "it aims to prepare students for research or employment in a variety of Korea-related fields." That sounds intimidating to me. Also, I would prefer to read literary texts because while I'm sure it would be useful to improve my Korean vocabulary in other areas, my personal goal has been to be able to read (and finish!) Korean novels. The pre-modern prose literature course hits my interests (full title: "Narrating Persons and Objects in Traditional Korean Prose"), and from what I was able to find, the readings are in Korean, not English translation, and the pre/co-requisite is three years of college Korean. But maybe I should focus instead on improving my language skills. Ideally I would like to take some combination of both language and literature courses, but I took two courses last semester and ended up overwhelmed and behind on research. Not sure if I can afford to lag behind even more, particularly if the course workload is heavy and ends up being a timesuck.
