Last week was full of meet ups with co-workers prior to the Christmas disappearing act we're all gonna pull. The whole team had a Christmas party with vodka and cake and lots of bubbles courtesy of four bubble guns. If you have parties, a bubble gun is the way to go! Way cheaper than a bubble machine, and much more fun, especially when it came to photo ops. I restricted myself to vodka-based drinks, because the tequila-drinking people were getting really rowdy and getting people drunk enough to do body shots. It's a good thing the female to male ratio in the team is 2:1, otherwise it would be trouble for us all. It was good I asked to be picked up by 2am, because they were so wasted that when someone fell asleep in the tub, it took two hours to get him out. ^^; Good thing the people I work with are more of the hard-drinking variety rather than the recreational drugs or sex variety

That afternoon I met up with the people I trained with to celebrate our third year at the company . Has it been that long? Anyway, most of the talk centered on what happened before, and what we were planning to do soon after. One of them announced he might leave early next year, and though no one said it, most of us were probably thinking the same thing. The changes were not well-explained, and the culture we loved before the merge is gone.

Anyway, I was initially planning to watch Inglourious Basterds right after the meetup, even to the point of calling for [livejournal.com profile] osmalic and [livejournal.com profile] wunder to meet up at Galleria, but the traffic killed my plans. The Ayala MRT station had lines that reached the end of the station, then doubled back, so I decided to take the lazy route and take a bus. I would've tried to reach the UP Lantern Parade, but by the time I'd get there, there would be nothing to see. I did see [livejournal.com profile] osmalic in Gateway.

So, I'm not really sure what happened, but we ended up talking about the heroes, and what they would do and watch in the modern context. We started with Rizal, because she mentioned that there was a Rizaliana exhibit in the National Museum, this being the month of his death anniversary. We determined Rizal was alive right now, he'd probably be an avid TFC viewer of Wowowee, studying media's effects on the masses. He'd be abroad in Madrid or somewhere else in Europe. He'd be from Ateneo, and probably blogs about his travels. Bonifacio would have a scholarship in UP, and he'd watch Eat Bulaga because he's going to eat at the carinderia. Aguinaldo would be a fan of Filipino-dubbed Korean soaps, just because it seemed to suit him. (Kerker si Aguinaldo! Woot!) We even talk about what were the chances of Bonifacio and Rizal becoming BFFs through the internet because they'd start flamewars with each other before finally getting along, and agreed that chances are slim for Aguinaldo to be friends with them because of conflicting motivations.

Congratulations onr eaching the end of this post. Here, have some rocking Amadeus
