Finally got to watch Half-Blood Prince!

This is the first time in a good long while that I actually watched a movie in a cinema. I do most of my film viewing via cable, so this was a great break from the stress at work. I got to Cubao around 5pm and managed to take some time to buy a discounted copy of Bt'X volume 2 and some blank index cards for the Snupin art fest before meeting [livejournal.com profile] wunder at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. This might also please some people, but I we had this conversation:

me: Do you miss drawing Tenipuri, we can has a big bang!
wunder: But I was kinda hoping to sign up for the Star Trek Big Bang -
me: Come on, come on, you'll have fun! We even have a page for signups already. Here, I can write the comm url down!
wunder: (I'm pretty sure she would refuse but - )Okay, sure.

HEEEEEE~♥ Much love to [livejournal.com profile] wunder for letting me persuade her to join~♥

Okay, pictures under the cut. :D

[personal profile] wunder drew some pretty neat Hetalia and Star Trek fanart. Here's one with North Italy saying "Pasta" and Germany cosplaying HRE. Too bad my photo of the Star Trek one and the Evil!Axis Powers (Japan with a monocle ftw!) Must persuade her to scan them in.

Here, have some Deatheaters.

There was some sort of event going on while we were lining up to enter the theater. There were a LOT of people because the games for the UAAP basketball games. Just trying to get on the escalators was a trial!

We got in just as they were finishing up with all the trailers. We only got to see one, and it was Sherlock Holmes! More movies to look out for, I guess.

Impressions of the movie Not re-reading the book right before watching it helped. I didn't feel the need to point out how many events got missed over the course of the movie, because if they did a scene for scene retelling of the books, the movie might have lasted at least twice as long. Definitely more Ginny than I expected, which I guess would prepare all those people to see them as the destined pair, there was as much Malfoy as there should be and Alan Rickman~♥ *insert flailing and fangirling squee* I just can't help it. I really really like Alan Rickman in whatever role he plays!

Lavender was adorable, and just so cute without being overbearing, even if this movie seems designed to focus on shipping pairs. (Sweetheart, says Tonks!) I think Hermione should've hit Ron in the beginning of the film so he'd have figured out things sooner (Harry did right after his 'But I am the Chosen One' line!) but that scene where she held his hand while in the infirmary was cute. The young Tom Riddle stole the show, there were no words to describe what we felt for him, except fabulous! I'll definitely look those actors up, even if I feel like a pedo stalker. ^^; Overall it was okay, and I think they definitely went lighter on the angst, which is good because Twilight's New Moon is coming out soon, and there will be wangst. Lots of it there based on the wikipedia summary and it serves as a refreshing change from the heavy atmosphere of OotP.

Right after the movie, we got to meet my sister for dinner and my sister, [livejournal.com profile] wunder and I went for Japanese while [personal profile] osmalic went for Mongolian stirfry and [livejournal.com profile] aiah1999 went for a Whopper Jr. We got into talking about fandoms, like Hetalia (history!), Western series like SPN, NCIS, and House (much fangirling over Misha Collins from one side of the table), the awesome that is a Les Miserables fighting game (downloading as I type!), how a Bible fighting game would work out (God as your damsel in distress, Noah summoning animals!), and why I should not be ashamed of liking K-pop or J-pop boybands (they balance out the VK fangirl in me?)

Did some random fanart for the people I watched the movie with. They didn't want to be identified!
My companions:

[livejournal.com profile] aiah1999, meep, sorry you don't ship them! Who DO you ship? :D

Photobucket
[personal profile] osmalic, which was probably the easiest card to make :P

[livejournal.com profile] wunder, who is awesome and made me two fanarts.

With all their powers combined.

I only had a reference for America available. I wish I could have scanned it better, but I think my sketchpad is really troublesome to scan. The paper's grain shows up too much. :(

Photobucket
Fanart straight out of the movie~♥
Tom Felton FTW.

Can't you edit out the grain with photoshop, if it's so repetitive? IDK, it doesn't look bad to me..
