Anti-OTP (?) Challenge: Yu-gi-oh!

Note: Now with doodles a kindergartener would do!

I said it to Sydney several times, but I think I should repeat this here too:

Seto is for Kisara and Kaiba is for Mokuba. The end.
At least, until the Anti-OTP challenge came along. So yes, see my brain leak out of my ears as I try to write this. I just couldn't do it! I've come up with scenarios detailing how I'll self-destruct this pair, but whatever I did, my hands couldn't type it down. What resulted is the stitled proof of my squemish attempt at masochism.

Locket (478 words)

It was an unseasonably hot Sunday in October when Mokuba first noticed a change in his brother. As his brother stretched forward to reach for the stack of files on the conference table, there was none of the usual tell-tale outline of the locket under his cotton shirt. Mokuba bowed down and touched his chest, feeling the cool metal pressed to his skin, and closed his eyes.

There were other changes. Lately he'd been kept at arms length, and the hugs were brief and businesslike. Seto was never physically demonstrative, but he'd always spared time for his younger brother. Now it seemed Seto took every chance to avoid seeing Mokuba; even when they were together his gaze would often wander to their surroundings. He tried once or twice to meet those eyes and smile, like the old times, but Seto never smiled back.

He didn't deliberately spy on his brother - that was impossible, Seto would get rid of his investigators quickly and efficiently, but he kept track of his brother's private outings. There were records and receipts of occasional business dinners and visits to discreet nightclubs willing to serve the under-aged CEO, but there were also a handful of unexplained hours here and there with paper trail that puzzled him. Where was Seto going? And why did he always drive himself on those times?

He asked Seto once, but all he got was a glare directed to a point above his shoulder, and the abrupt reply, "It's not important." And that itself was not like Seto now, after Death-T and the Duellist Kingdom and Alcatraz. That was the unfeeling Seto of Gozaburo's making, who'd never bother to rescue him if he got kidnapped or hurt. He didn't like this distant Seto, and he intended to find out what changed.

And that's why he's here biting his fingers in an unmarked rented car, Isono driving fifty meters behind his brother. If Seto finds out he's being followed there'll be hell to pay. This city district was familiar, and Mokuba recalled passing here once or twice at Yugi's invitation. Seto never joined him, saying it was beneath him to play around with the makeinu and his friends, but Seto knew where the Kame Shop was, and would pick him up afterwards. He never talked to Yugi's friends, and rarely exchanged words with his rival.

Seto finally stopped before a familiar building. He got out, and a small figure with distinctive hair stood limned in the light from the open doorway. "Let's go, Isono." Mokuba's voice was surprisingly clear. His fingernails bit down into his skin so hard they drew blood, and he kept his eyes on the pair even as they drove away.

The next week he found the locket in Seto's dresser, and laid his on top of it, before leaving the mansion for a roleplaying game at Bakura's.

Yes, Sydney, I promised the VS/YGO, but your namesake said he was not there to promote the wanton and excess overflow of angst for the pair, and thus I had to improvise. XD
