Important! BL works by Kazuki Kato

Kazuki Kato is yet another one of my 'projects', a BL manga-ka. I was careful to choose a name that was not in any list of manga-ka I know. I think that if you google for her, you'll get information about a nature photgrapher (at least the last time I tried). She's my little bit for Falsificatio, a set of fake fansites of Four-cats, and I seriously need to get off my ass and work on it.

Kazuki Kato's my mad, "what-I-would've-been-if-I-was-born-in-Japan-with-any-talent-for making-manga" persona, but what the heck, I'm only a few thousand miles away. :D

Listed manga for Kazuki Kato:
Trinkets
Due owns Trinkets, a store where you can find love unexpectedly if you purchase the right love charm. And since Kazuki Kato is a BL mangaka, that means that for strange reasons, guys are getting cute, girly stuff and then promptly falling into their partner's arms, sometimes literally. (Go Samidare!)
Issues with this everyone sounds like a variation on cheerful uke with strong seme, so I ought to vary that. And it's a bit obvious that Ansel and Cecil is my favorite pair. :D
The Smiling Prince
Jean, Due Ayukawa's brother, is very rich, very friendly, and has a weakness for blondes. These factors leads to trouble as he and his schoolmates face the ins and outs of adolescent love. Cecil and Ansel from Trinkets watch over this madcap high school romance series where Jean can be the only one to know who's his 'prince'.
Issues with this Can't for the life of me make up Jean's friends. Solution: read BL high school romances. But the only series I have falling into that category which does NOT involve a teacher-student romance is - er - Menkui. The rest are one-shots. The Power of Pure Soul, anyone?
Iro-iro wa suki!
The title is supposed to translate to 'Many loves', but I think I got the particle wrong. O_o; A single father, Murasaki, is raising five children named after colors. Kuro, Aoi, Ki, Momo, and Beni were named by their deceased mother who liked sentai anime and named her kids according to the colors of the warrior's suits (what the?!). Of the five it's the 'girly' one, Momo, who doesn't want to be gay!
Issues with this Time. :D Looks like a fun (if slightly madcap) bit of work. Also, I have a perfectly good outline for their lovelives already. Genres covered: sariman, good boy falls for bad boy, hyper boy with smart boy, weirdo with the slightly dumb one, the girly one with a prince, and shota. :D
Eternal Rhapsody
Taeto Hinoki of Trinkets is now grown up, and has become a classical musician. During one of his tours he encounters a small boy with the cheerful demeanor of Yasuke, and follows where he thinks he'll find happiness.
Issues with this I can't come up with a plot, since it's shota. Help!
Sweet like Sugar (?)
What came out from a post by [livejournal.com profile] pornkings about naming a child Sugar. The poor kid! He'd be transported into a fantastic world where the very first thing that happens to him is being swamped by a mob. They think he is Sugar from the most popular girl group Candystripers (or Candygals, I'm still deciding). I always think of this as my 'Naoko Takeuchi on crack' manga.
Issues Naming characters? They're named after foodstuffs or endearments, so there's Milk, Muffin, cupcake, Darling etc. The rest of the Candygals are Love, Honey, and Sweet. I think the mysterious masked savior is currently named Green Tea. XD Did I say I was on crack?

***

Icon series Samizo Kouhei from Leviathan, a work that I am currently adoring. Story by Eiji Otsuka, art by Yuu Kinutani. Currently scanlated by Band of the Hawks *smiles Berserk smiles* (http://thehawks.org) and available (at least according to the scanlation credits page) at #hawks@wondernet and #omanga@wondernet. This is not a BL manga. XD This serious work deals with the coming of Leviathan, the monster that will announce the coming of the King of Terror - but instead appears a man with the parts from five people - Samizo Kouhei. He reminds me of Griffith of Bereserk, need I say more? Griffith before he fell under the sway of that dratted egg, mayhaps.

Due: I must talk to you, Russel-chan.
Russel: [warily] I'm not sending Jean back, you know.
Due: I understand. [smiles] It's something else. Please?

Russel: So what is it?
Due: Remember when I rescued you when we were both teenagers?
Russel: 'Cupid Due'. [grins]
Due: I had you stay with us--and you met Jean then, but I doubt you remember him much.
Russel: I did. I didn't get the connection between him and the child till I saw you again, and then I did that stupid thing. I'm sorry.
Due: It was an honest mistake. Do you remember how Jean was then?

Russel: Yeah. He was very quiet, and liked hiding in the shadows. He never smiled.
Due: Until you brought him to the garden, and he saw those birds for the first time.
Russel: [smiling at the memory]
Due: I trusted you back then, and I will trust you now.
Due: But it'll be hard to convince the rest.
Russel: Thank you.
Due: Just be good to my little brother, Russel.
Due: I don't want his heart broken.
Russel: ... ... ...
Due: Russel?

Russel: Sometimes I worry
Russel: If his feelings are really engaged.
Russel: I can't read beneath his smile, and I just can't survive not knowing everything about him.
Russel: I'm afraid if I told him this, he'll think I'm a stupid person.
Due: He'll never think you're stupid, Russel.
Due: I think, that in one sense, he's worried you'll find him immature.
Due: So doesn't this mean you're both worried you won't measure up to each other?
Russel: Maybe you're right.

Russel: You're still the Cupid, knowing exactly what to say.
Due: It's an old habit. Murata hates it when I always say the right thing.
Due: Oh. I shouldn't bring him up, right?
Russel: It's fine. I'm not in love with you anyway.
Due: I don't like the way you say it.
Russel: What is he, anyway? Cecil insists he's a host.
Due: He's an event organizer, and he's starting an art gallery so he can have a daytime job.

Russel: Cecil's a lot like me, you know. I don't think we'll ever recover from you.
Due: I know. But then he wasn't for me, and I wasn't for him.
Due: _And_ I think you've both recovered quite well enough. Ansel's a sweet boy, and Jean--well, I know Jean well enough to know he's got a sweet side too.
Russel: Thank goodness someone can say that to me. I sometimes wonder.

Due: There you are, viscount!
Jean: I am not a viscount. And what are you doing here?
Due: Wondering when my brother abandoned his duties and went here.
[Jean blushes.]
Jean: I--I'm not coming back to the villa just because Cecil and Ansel sent you here!
Due: Why does everyone think I'm here to take you away?
Due: I'm here because of the wine launch you always invite me to play host.
Jean: It is the time of the year for it. I totally forgot!

Due: Don't worry, Ansel's got the bases covered. You've trained your replacements well.
Jean: It wasn't supposed to be like that! I--I'm just here...
Jean: /I have responsibilities. How could I have let my desires go before my duties?/
Jean: I should go back, shouldn't I?
Due: Absolutely not.
Jean: ?!
Due: If you want to, then do so. But I can't have the vineyards affected by your melancholy.

[Due musses Jean's hair.]
Due: I've missed seeing your smile, you know. Everyone else probably does too.
Jean: I've been very selfish.
Due: We've got to be selfish once in a while. And I think you're long overdue to be one.
Due: I've talked to Russel. He likes having you here.
Due: So you needn't worry about getting kicked out.
Jean: Thank you.
Due: But I expect you to be a good little wife to him in return!
Jean: DON'T MAKE JOKES LIKE THAT!
Due: Ow. Ow. I was kidding! Kidding!
Jean: Next time I won't be so kind.
Due: I know.
