Jose Rizal on Wikipedia A Jose Rizal site in both English and Tagalog.
Those pages are actually at the top of a set of book guides. If I was in the mood I'd translate them to English, but I'm a bit busy right now. O_o And my crack versions of their description (with help from osmalic) sound scary in the calm light of day: ( Cracked edition. Might cause choking and gnawing on desktops )Yet another Rizal site. Ignore the graphics, and check out the list of articles pertaining to perceptions of Rizal as a hero. Jose Rizal on Project Gutenberg. Both El Fili and Noli are translations by Charles Derbyshire. I think I have an extra copy of the translation by Leon Ma Guerrero, but what I want is a list of the quotations used in chapter headings. Anyone know where to find them? *** Re: holmesian Still hedging over what to write, but I did find out that doing an advanced search for "detective stories" in Project Guterberg yields works by Arthur Conan Doyle, Honoré de Balzac, and two books by Agatha Christie. The search results seem to include some horror mysteries as well, but I haven't checked it out. I'm going to download a couple of the Lock and Key Library, edited by Julian Hawthorne, to sample what he thinks were the best of the mysteries back in the days of yore. :D The University of Adelaide e-text library has a list of books under the theme "crime". I've yet to look through the authors list and check if they missed mentioning something in their collection, but it links to a download of the complete Father Brown stories by G.K.Chesterton.

These are specific to Ariri-nee: V.Important and needed for the story! - Where the heck is Takeda Shigen again after all this? He was with Kousaka the man with the dreadful fashion sense then, apparently, but did he possess a body after? - Who is Yuzuru's incarnation? Was it Buddha? O_o OMFG, a passing St Seiya ref! XD - in the OAV, Haruie's beloved was not really part of the Mekai Uesugi army, and can be ignored, yes? - Hatayama is Mori Ranmaru, Oda Nobunaga's general, nee, nee? Random comment: Yup, Oda Nobunaga is yet again the Evil Bad Guy (and yes, the term is redundant).
Please reply while the episodes are still fresh on my mind. Or better yet, can you tell me where I can find all of this info? By the way, there's a silly way to get Ayatsuri Sakon in the story as well, if I'm mad enough to work it out. ^_^;
I listened to the English sub for episode 7, and it made me giggle. Hearing Naoe say, "You're the one that ruins me" was just priceless. And then "Do you have any idea what I desire?" *laughs helplessly at the image of American seiyuu wondering what the heck they got themselves into* Just a random genki happy moment before I get down to the business of trying to regain my sanity.
Death games, a little note: I could have found Akira's shikai release word - Choubuku (Exorcise). XD The heck is it? At the rate it's going, it's going to be a BxHnGxHnM fic :P Noo~ It doesn't help that right now Saiki-san is looking a bit too much like a certain Virgo Gold Saint as I draw him.
It turns out that Akira's 'thing' can be regarded as an unreleased zanpakuto instead of constantly being in shikai - given that Yama-jii and Uruhara have canes to serve as their unreleased zanpakuto. ^^; Just a thought. No, I'm just looking for a way to not think about him attaining bankai, but having him use the chains.

Time to read Book 6 again,just so I can figure out what I'm supposed to do.
For people who've read HP 5: Remus hasn't been cured of his werewolfishness, right? (Werewolfishness - what a word.) I've read book 6, and though he was mentioned in passing *cries* I didn't really know much about what happened to him since.

I listened to this song over and over (again) and I officially recognize it as a song for the Hikaru no Go Wishes album. Yun lang. But a really, really, really interesting song in a R&B sort of way is Clazziquai's You Never Know. O_o;
Yeah, and that reminds me - I just read an article about a Japanese coffeeshop that opened a branch here in Manila - and I want to go there for some good old coffee loving! Ta - ci - ta! ^_^ So now the building block were Trinkets is located looks like this:

The bookshop owner is the one that ends up with the ditzy manga-ka, as per Anna's suggestion. *laughs* Don't think I forgot about that already!
Why have I ended up making so many L5r ficlets lately? Ask Hisui-san - I'm still recovering from the burst of idea intoxication her last visit brought me. Also, I seem to like Tsubasa a lot. He's - nice. *fangirls* And of course the idea of anything remotely sentai-ish (in the form of Unicorn Battler YongHa) is enough to cement my love for these characters. Maybe because Souji and YongHa aren't together in the way Akira and Hikaru are, so I can angst my way though the relationship. In fact, I believe that I can;t for the life of me think of a good complication for HikaAki (in L5r, as opposed to in Hikaru no Go)
( random lines ) ( Binetsu Kakumei : Stay )

Monster The turtle and magpies (from the story 'Magpies' in the Joy Luck Club), and how Johan tried to swallow up all of Nina's sadness. (Spoilerish)
Bleach Set of vignettes concerning Ishida and kids. Ishida is NOT good with kids in the beginning, because he's very cool. But there's a view in my mind of a toddler sitting on his lap trying to grab his glasses and he playing along. ^_^ Kawaii!

...to the point of making icons for this lj. Someone stop me from making icons! *bangs head against the wall*
Ideas for a Sakende Yaruze fic - voice : concerning Tenryu's comment on Nakaya's voice - one of the things that Tenryu loved about Shino is his voice, and that sets up a train of thought that can only be called disturbing for Shino. But Tenryu, discovering his partner's troubled thoughts, tries to set him straight. (HOW?) - Akihi has a dead lover. Reflections on letting go. - (I find it funny that Kousuke's seme in my mind....) He gets Mizusawa away from his fiancee, and when Mizusawa asks why he did that he just says something along the lines of "You're an idiot! You ought to know why by now!" - Mizusawa and the water metahpor - how he lets himself be carried by the flow of events, not realizing that he can't always just let his life flow in such a way - but he only finds out when he met Shino and Kousuke. X_x (Actually, Kousuke's pushing - pulling all throughout this in my mind.)

I'm seriously considering giving Daidoji Kitani (I remembered there was a Minoru among their ranks - I didn't want to get myself confused) a Scorpion lover - a married one, trained as an artisan (Soshi?) who - though she couldn't rival Kitani in Go (hell, no one can rival Kitani Minoru except Go Seigen in my mind! Ack! Go meijin slash. XP) but there are certain elements I want to write in :
- a child (the Scorpion's) who Kitani treat like his own - the different things used to describe go : a battle, a sharing game, revealing what is in the player's mind, if not in his heart, timeless, used as a means to prophesy (in the sense of the old Chinese use for Go) - the attack and repulse of violence in the game - the ebb and flow of the game to show their adaptability to the situations (situation: a point where Joseki is abandoned because it limits the progress of the game) - Stubborness, in Kitani's part (he refuses the engagement, leading to return to a previous state of the game - refusal to accept the situation of their relationship?) - Luring out to show a weakness, but not using it - to show where to improve (shidougo) - not fighting in the end, because Go is a game of harmony - not to mention her by name - a drawn game

The other one is proving much harder to think of because I want some unusual way of conducting revenge, not just the usual duel (though the duel does have its merits), but I can;t think of a creative, traditionally Japanese way of doing it, besides a curse. O_o

One in the form of making Henri and the rest of the S'teirans as ghosts created by the spirit of Seika to be its/her/his (Do world spirits have gender? I suppose it should be neuter, nee?) agents of change. I mean, when you think of it, there had to be someone to safeguard the world from destruction, as people are rather wanton in their steady path to entropy. I mean, the world needs to ensure it existence, same as everyone else, only when it is destroyed, so dies everyone else on it. Seems like a good enough reason to make 'ghosts' exist. But then arises the problem, that if they are ghosts, then how come they feel real
The thought came to me because of that FMV from Final Fantasy X, the one for the song Suteki da ne. And it seems like an initial solution to the dilemna of their existence. S'teira is beside an industrialized country (Psynam). Why can't they access the other country? It was not cold as Athelia was in the time of the Changing of the Fortunes. Approach by land proved to be difficult because of the mountain range in between, but what about by sea? Having monsters localized in the area is just too silly to even be mentioned, and reminds me of really old-school "here be monsters" maps. After a while an intrepid explorer would have gotten through by sheer survival instinct and luck and returned to tell the tale of his misadventures. But if it was a place inhabited by monsters, why then does it appear to have a triving city in the middle of it? What, the beasts don't attack S'teirans?
I'm being a mean betareader to my own plot. =_=;
Ghosts that didn't know they were nothing more than figments of the world's whims. Sounds extremely Berkeley-ish.

The other is to take part in the ghost anthology. Tin, you are the ebil.

I have to make a story about a girl who suddenly grows wings, but I can't. I'm just out of it. And that possible story about Leigh and Yuuta of Trinkets and the misanga is too tempting....

More NaNoWriMo-ness: So far I've listed eight boarders for Tita Trining's boardinghouse. There's Mr. Anal Retentive, Victor, Mr. Torpe/long-suffering best friend Bryan, Mr. Inflamed Nationalist Jose Maria Sioson (call him Jomar!), Mr Playboy Paul, Mr Muscleman/Loyalty Awardee Diether Palanca, Mr. Boy-Next- Door-Everyone's-Friend Christian, Mr. Scary Nerd Raymond, and last, Mr Effeminate Metrosexual/Karate Black Belter Lucas (Lucy for short). I'm considering changing Lucas to Mandrel or Amando, so his nickname would be Mandy; it sounds so much better than Lucy.
And I'm not yet done with the first chapter! Agh!

Kazuki Kato is yet another one of my 'projects', a BL manga-ka. I was careful to choose a name that was not in any list of manga-ka I know. I think that if you google for her, you'll get information about a nature photgrapher (at least the last time I tried). She's my little bit for Falsificatio, a set of fake fansites of Four-cats, and I seriously need to get off my ass and work on it.
Kazuki Kato's my mad, "what-I-would've-been-if-I-was-born-in-Japan-with-any-talent-for making-manga" persona, but what the heck, I'm only a few thousand miles away. :D
Listed manga for Kazuki Kato: ♥ Trinkets Due owns Trinkets, a store where you can find love unexpectedly if you purchase the right love charm. And since Kazuki Kato is a BL mangaka, that means that for strange reasons, guys are getting cute, girly stuff and then promptly falling into their partner's arms, sometimes literally. (Go Samidare!) Issues with this everyone sounds like a variation on cheerful uke with strong seme, so I ought to vary that. And it's a bit obvious that Ansel and Cecil is my favorite pair. :D ♥ The Smiling Prince Jean, Due Ayukawa's brother, is very rich, very friendly, and has a weakness for blondes. These factors leads to trouble as he and his schoolmates face the ins and outs of adolescent love. Cecil and Ansel from Trinkets watch over this madcap high school romance series where Jean can be the only one to know who's his 'prince'. Issues with this Can't for the life of me make up Jean's friends. Solution: read BL high school romances. But the only series I have falling into that category which does NOT involve a teacher-student romance is - er - Menkui. The rest are one-shots. The Power of Pure Soul, anyone? ♥ Iro-iro wa suki! The title is supposed to translate to 'Many loves', but I think I got the particle wrong. O_o; A single father, Murasaki, is raising five children named after colors. Kuro, Aoi, Ki, Momo, and Beni were named by their deceased mother who liked sentai anime and named her kids according to the colors of the warrior's suits (what the?!). Of the five it's the 'girly' one, Momo, who doesn't want to be gay! Issues with this Time. :D Looks like a fun (if slightly madcap) bit of work. Also, I have a perfectly good outline for their lovelives already. Genres covered: sariman, good boy falls for bad boy, hyper boy with smart boy, weirdo with the slightly dumb one, the girly one with a prince, and shota. :D ♥ Eternal Rhapsody Taeto Hinoki of Trinkets is now grown up, and has become a classical musician. During one of his tours he encounters a small boy with the cheerful demeanor of Yasuke, and follows where he thinks he'll find happiness. Issues with this I can't come up with a plot, since it's shota. Help! ♥ Sweet like Sugar (?) What came out from a post by pornkings about naming a child Sugar. The poor kid! He'd be transported into a fantastic world where the very first thing that happens to him is being swamped by a mob. They think he is Sugar from the most popular girl group Candystripers (or Candygals, I'm still deciding). I always think of this as my 'Naoko Takeuchi on crack' manga. Issues Naming characters? They're named after foodstuffs or endearments, so there's Milk, Muffin, cupcake, Darling etc. The rest of the Candygals are Love, Honey, and Sweet. I think the mysterious masked savior is currently named Green Tea. XD Did I say I was on crack?

Icon series Samizo Kouhei from Leviathan, a work that I am currently adoring. Story by Eiji Otsuka, art by Yuu Kinutani. Currently scanlated by Band of the Hawks *smiles Berserk smiles* (http://thehawks.org) and available (at least according to the scanlation credits page) at #hawks@wondernet and #omanga@wondernet. This is not a BL manga. XD This serious work deals with the coming of Leviathan, the monster that will announce the coming of the King of Terror - but instead appears a man with the parts from five people - Samizo Kouhei. He reminds me of Griffith of Bereserk, need I say more? Griffith before he fell under the sway of that dratted egg, mayhaps.
( this happens to be one of my favorite parts from the smiling prince, I don't know why )
